Home To Stay was founded in the mid-1990s by Elizabeth “Pat” Adams, R.N., in Yarmouth Port. After her own parents retired to Cape Cod, Pat became frustrated by the lack of quality care available to help seniors remain safely in their homes. Determined to create something better, she founded Home To Stay with the goal of helping older adults stay in the comfort of their homes while providing peace of mind to their families.

Today, Home To Stay is the oldest privately held senior home care provider on Cape Cod.

Over the years, as the company grew and additional professionals joined the team, Home To Stay developed a strong reputation for compassionate, dependable care. In fact, Pat did very little advertising, relying primarily on word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied families and trusted community partners. Through this reputation, Home To Stay expanded to serve every community across Cape Cod and the Islands.

After bravely battling cancer for more than a decade, Pat passed away, leaving behind a legacy of care and dedication to the Cape Cod community. Her commitment to helping seniors remain in familiar surroundings continues to guide the mission of Home To Stay.

Today, under new local ownership and leadership, Home To Stay remains deeply committed to honoring Pat’s vision. Our team continues to focus on the same principles that built the company from the beginning: compassionate caregivers, trusted relationships with families, and a belief that seniors deserve to remain in the comfort and dignity of their own homes whenever possible.

While ownership has evolved, the heart of Home To Stay remains the same. We are proud to carry forward the legacy Pat created — providing thoughtful, personalized care to seniors across Cape Cod and giving families the peace of mind they deserve.
